Re: pc ran into a problem and needs to restart windows 10

update - I did find a .dmp file so I installed something called NirSoft Blue Screen Viewer so that I could view that file and it showed that the issue was caused by the driver nvlddmkm.sys which after some research has to do with the Nvidia graphics card. So I am going to see what else I can find ou...

ccleaner & active monitoring

I have been using ccleaner for quite a few years now and there has never been an issue. However, I have recently noticed that there is always an icon in the lower right task bar for ccleaner stating that it is actively monitoring my computer. I have gone in to the settings > options > monitoring and...

Re: windows 10 and constant beeping in middle of the day

I did finally figure out what the problem was - after the darn beeping started a couple hours after the computer had been shut down for the night. Turns out my APC Back-up unit battery needs to be replaced. It was driving me nuts trying to figure out what the heck was going on and then when it happe...

windows 10 and constant beeping in middle of the day

I was on my computer (it had been on for a couple hours) and all of a sudden it started with a high pitched beeping that was just a constant beeping that probably lasted about a minute. It then stopped and everything was working just fine. But something caused that beeping. I was trying to find some...

Re: Windows 10 Creators Update

Well, I guess I will just ignore them. Good to know that the update did go smoothly. I was just concerned that something happened during the update process. You never know! Thanks Again :)

Windows 10 Creators Update

My computer downloaded and installed the Windows 10 Creators update yesterday. I have noticed that since the update I now have Wireless Display Media Viewer and Mixed Reality Portal in the list of apps / programs. Neither of these do anything when the are opened. The Wireless Display Media Viewer ac...

Re: Password Managers

Thanks so very much :) I will look into KeePass. I thought that using something like a password manager would allow me to create much longer and safer passwords, but just wasn't sure if they were actually any good. Thanks Again

Password Managers

Just curious, with all of the passwords we need to have and to change from time to time, is a Password Manager program something to look into getting or am I just as well off to simply keep a little book in my desk with all my passwords and just update that every time I change a password?
Thanks :)
