This article's title is misleading. It would not matter if all of the viruses were Windows viruses, the Mac OS is acting as a carrier for the virus Windows and is, by definition, infected with the virus. The original report is accurate when they stated that 20% of all Macs are infected with a virus, however they should have clarified that most of these viruses were Windows-based malware. Just because the virus is not actively causing harm to the system does not mean everything is OK.

That (it is a "Carrier" so to speak and can pass along the infection to windows based machines) was referenced in the article.

Right, which is why I said the title is misleading. 1 in 5 Macs ARE infected with malware.
