bandwidth

Many of us have Small Office/Home Office Networks or want to set one up. Possibly just to share the Internet among multiple computers. This forum is about networking: set up, hardware - hubs, routers, etc.

bandwidth

Does anyone know how much bandwidth a day is use when connected to the internet but the computer is sitting idle?

depends on what you have running
av protection
aouto updates for other programs
DHCP renewals
email checking for mail
if your infected tons of bandwidth :)

is there a reason or something happening that this concerns you

u mean windows security essentials?

i just cleaned a box that depended on that one to if that's what your talking about no thanks :) that does not suck up bandwidth
but infected computers do :)

Are you still using bandwidth if you are using your laptop wireless to view a movie you are getting from your own home network. Or is bandwidth used only getting the net to your house.

anytime data is being transfered u r using bandwidth
does not matter what
movies mucisc mail infections....etc
as long as it's running there goes bandwidth
is there a problem u are having?
