How do I know which adapter to buy for wifi router

Many of us have Small Office/Home Office Networks or want to set one up. Possibly just to share the Internet among multiple computers. This forum is about networking: set up, hardware - hubs, routers, etc.

How do I know which adapter to buy for wifi router

Post by Pebbles » December 21st, 2012, 7:39 pm

We are going to go wireless and reading thru Linksys website I have no clue what I am looking at....LOL. We are going to have at least 3 desktops and in the future I want to get a tablet. How do I know which model is the best to get? And how do I know which adapter to get, an internal one or a USB one? We have High Speed ADSL - Speeds up to 1.544Mbs/512Kbs. We mainly use internet for surfing, watching videos on youtube, TV shows that are online, email and games on Yahoo for example. Any info/advice is greatly appreciated. We chose Linksys because that is all we have ever owned and never had problems with it. Thanks. :)

linksys is now owned by Cisco
http://home.cisco.com/en-us/home
look at the new standard AC it's supposed to be faster than N speed
remember to get the speed the cards need to match so older cards will only go at the old card speeds
