Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Update won't start

Post by Irabbit » December 13th, 2017, 10:40 am

When I click on windows update I get an error message "Windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer."
I checked services and Windows update was running.
I restarted the computer, checked servies and windows update was running and still get the same error message.
I tried shutting down the computer and rebooting. Still get the same error.
My UPS software is asking for permission to run which it did not do before. I gave it permission and still get the same error for windows update.
I rebooted and denied access to the UPS software and still get the same update error.
The only other change I have made to my system is to install Acronis 2018. I have not done a windows update since the install which was on 11/27/2017.
HD 279GB free out of 376GB.
Any thoughts?

That worked. Thanks. Not sure why my search did not find that one.
