ccleaner & active monitoring

I have been using ccleaner for quite a few years now and there has never been an issue. However, I have recently noticed that there is always an icon in the lower right task bar for ccleaner stating that it is actively monitoring my computer. I have gone in to the settings > options > monitoring and removed the check mark for enable active monitoring as well as going to the task manager > startup and clicking to disable it from there. Yet when I restart the computer the darn thing is again actively monitoring my computer. It isn't a big deal, but I don't see why the darn thing insists on resetting itself every time I restart the computer. I have looked for information on this and there are a lot of folks having the same issue. Other than to go back to a previous version of the software, is there any way to stop the program from constantly resetting the active monitoring option?

Thanks So Very Much

uninstall it …. reinstall it and make sure you do not select monitoring
