Well, if it comes back again I will give it another try. So far I have only seen this one the one time. I did have another one using a different "From" address that did the same thing. I have a Gmail account, not relevent. The email is coming to my PTD email account. I could get another PTD account, but not worth the effort to notify all concerned and besides it would, no doubt, be found out also.

The Email Filter or Filters are set up as:
If Any or All (choose one) of the following conditions are met. If you choose All, then all the filters must be met for the email to be detected. If you choose Any then, only one of the filters you have defined have to be met to be detected:

Each Filter set up can be run on one of the following fields:
Subject, From, To, cc, To or cc, Message, Size, Date, Body, Attachment, Read Receipt, Address In, Calendar, Social, Header Named.

The conditions that the filter uses against one of the above is one of the following:
Contains, Does not contain, Matches exactly, Does not match exactly, Matches wildcard condition, Does not match wildcard condition.

with my mail I called provider (not PTD) and they permanently blocked the domain for me
my gmail and web mail interfaces have the options to block domains that is why I mentioned not using ptd if their system can't even do that

How will it block it if it is not recognized? When I tell it that the "From" "Contains" that part of the address it should process against the email unless it is not part of the address. All other emails, except one other, that I have encountered I have been able to define by entering all or a part of the "From" address and it has no problem processing those emails. Blocking the domain is "OK" if it is actually where the email is coming from, but I question that since that domain name is not being found by the filter processor. It makes it seem like it is being spoofed in some manner.

I found one of the emails still in my junk box so I clicked on it as not spam to put it back in my "In" box. I then created the filter many different ways. I used the full address as shown in the "From" box (FHALoanSpecialist@vthvax.devzuzzier.com) as well as parts of the displayed "From" address. It does run against the domain as well as localpart or all. I also entered just the domain and chose domain for it to run against and it found nothing. I then set the filter to "contain" "dev" only and dev was not found in the "From" field. In other words that address in whole or in part does not exist in the "From" field since it is not being detected. That begs the question if no part of the address displayed is being detected where does it actually come from?

I actually tried to forward to you, but your spam filter blocked it. Who would have thought? LOL
My on board mailwasher program will pick it up also. I would just like to not have it come to my computer and deal with them individually. If I could get it set up in the PTD webmail all that use whatever it is would be deleted automatically by PTD and not ever come to me in my computer. Any other email that I have come across, the filter will find & process based on either all or a partial of what is shown in the "From" field. For this it does not recognize all or any part of what is shown in the "From" field. This would be just a basic search of the field for the characters that are being displayed and none are found. The only way I can figure that would happen is that what is being displayed is not what the field contains.
